The best kind of traffic for any internet business is the targeted traffic. Ideally you would create more than one source of targeted traffic because as many as you can because you can never have enough traffic!
One of the best ways to create targeted traffic is article marketing. The way you do this is to write articles based on the keywords that you researched for your business. Submit articles regularly to article directories for the best exposure possible. You will basically get traffic in direct proportion to the number of quality articles you write. Another way of creating targeted internet marketing is forum marketing. The way you do this is by searching the internet for niche related forums and creating accounts on those forums. Use your website URL as your signature so that when you write a post the link appears on the forum and the members there can visit your website. But make sure your post always provides good content for the users so that they want more and click your back link.
You can use almost the same technique with niche blogs. What you can do is leave useful and valuable comments on a post within another blog within your niche and use your website URL so as to make sure the blog owner give you credit for the quality content that you contributed to his site. Make sure that the blog owner has not created a "no follow" blog otherwise all your hard work will go to waste.
Another method is link building. Having many quality links (links from sites that are similar or complementary to yours) pointing to your site is very important for the search engines. If you have a high page rank score your website may show up first in the search engines when somebody searches for one of the keywords you optimized your site for. You can get links to your site by repeating the forum and blog methods and by simply asking other webmasters for a link exchange, meaning you will post their link on your site and they will post your link on their site.
If you don't have time to do any of the above mentioned methods or if you simply want to take a shortcut to targeted internet marketing, you can do so with pay per click advertising. Needless to say this costs a lot of money and you should only invest in this if by the end of the month you will make a profit over and above the cost of the advertising. If you are not cautious you could end up losing a lot of money.
The difference between general internet traffic and targeted internet traffic could mean the difference between making money and not making money with your site.
So implement those methods and get your website flooded with potential buyers!
